Privacy Policy
In short: PetKyn Health is an offline pet health journal. We do not collect, sell, or transmit your personal data to our servers. All pet profiles, health logs, notes, and photos are stored locally on your device.
1. Introduction
PetKyn Health (“the App,” “we,” “us”) is a mobile application that helps pet owners keep a private, local record of their pet’s health observations. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the App.
By using PetKyn Health, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
2. Information Stored on Your Device
The App stores the following information locally on your phone or device:
- Pet profile details (such as pet name and profile photo)
- Health log entries (appetite, energy, stool, medication, water intake, weight, notes, and related fields)
- Photos you attach to logs or pet profiles
- App preferences (such as light or dark theme, when saved)
This information is saved using on-device storage and is not sent to PetKyn Health servers because we do not operate backend servers that receive your data.
3. Information We Do Not Collect
PetKyn Health does not:
- Require account creation or login
- Collect your name, email address, or contact details through the App
- Sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for advertising
- Sync your data to our cloud by default
- Use third-party analytics or advertising SDKs in the current version of the App
4. Device Permissions
Depending on how you use the App, you may grant access to:
- Camera — to take photos for pet profiles or health logs
- Photo Library — to choose existing photos for pet profiles or health logs
Photos and images you select are used only to display and store records inside the App on your device. We do not upload them to PetKyn Health servers. You can manage or revoke permissions at any time in your device Settings.
5. Data Retention and Deletion
- Your data remains on your device until you delete it in the App or remove the App from your device.
- Deleting a pet profile in the App permanently removes that pet’s associated logs and stored photos from the App’s local storage on that device.
- Uninstalling the App generally removes all App data stored locally on that device.
Because data is stored locally, we cannot recover deleted data for you remotely.
6. Children’s Privacy
PetKyn Health is intended for use by pet owners and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App, contact us and we will assist as appropriate.
7. Third-Party Services
The current version of PetKyn Health does not include third-party services that collect your personal information on our behalf. If you choose to share content from your device using built-in operating system features (for example, sharing a screenshot or file through another app), that sharing is handled by your device and the third-party app you select—not by PetKyn Health.
8. Security
Your data is stored locally on your device. The security of your information depends in part on the security of your device, including passcode, biometric lock, and operating system protections. While we design the App to keep data on-device, no storage method is completely secure.
9. Your Choices and Rights
You can:
- View, edit, and delete pet profiles and log entries within the App
- Remove photos attached to entries or profiles
- Revoke camera or photo permissions in device Settings
- Delete all App data by uninstalling the App
Because we do not maintain remote accounts or server copies of your data, requests to access or delete data are fulfilled by actions you take on your device.
10. Medical Disclaimer
PetKyn Health is a personal wellness journal only. It is not a medical device and does not provide veterinary diagnosis, treatment, or emergency guidance. Always consult a licensed veterinarian for medical decisions about your pet.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
